Chemical peels…the term may sound scary but, in actuality, chemical peels have been used for over 100 years and are a safe and highly popular way to improve the texture and appearance of your skin.

Chemical peels use a chemical solution, usually an acid, to ‘peel’ away the top layers of the epidermis in order to improve conditions such as acne, irregular pigmentation or wrinkles. They can range from mild to aggressive and, depending on the nature and depth of the peel, a significant number of layers can be exfoliated. This allows new, fresh skin to be exposed. Chemical peels create a vibrant appearance, promote a rosy glow and can even dry up an acne flare.

A chemical peel is a quick and easy treatment that can be performed during a lunch hour. Depending on the strength of the peel, some may only leave your skin freshened and radiant. Others are deeper and are associated with a few days of peeling and redness. Your clinician will work with you to determine which chemical peel is best suited for your skin and schedule.
